Greater Dallas Choral Society Names Cynthia Nott Artistic Director Emerita

Greater Dallas Choral Society (GDCS) has named Cynthia Nott as Artistic Director Emerita, honoring her extraordinary legacy of artistry, vision, and mentorship that continues to shape the organization and the Dallas choral community.

When the Children’s Chorus of Greater Dallas (CCGD) was founded in 1997 by six Dallas-area musicians, Nott was selected to lead—and went on to serve as its only artistic director for 25 seasons. Under her guidance, the chorus became one of the nation’s most respected children’s choral programs. Through her leadership, thousands of young singers discovered focus, joy, and belonging—learning not only the art of singing but also the values of discipline, collaboration, and excellence.

Following her retirement in 2022, Nott joined the newly established Greater Dallas Choral Society as a member of its board of directors, providing continuity and wisdom as the organization entered its next chapter. As she concludes her board service, GDCS recognizes her enduring impact with the honorary title of Artistic Director Emerita.
