MISSION

Greater Dallas Choral Society (GDCS) provides children and youth an experience in choral artistry in a group that reflects the diversity of the Dallas metroplex.

VISION

We are recognized at home and across the nation as a premier chorus for children and youth.

We engage, enrich, uplift, and transform our diverse communities through the power of choral music.

We are an active partner and trusted resource for area artists, schools, and music educators, broadening our region’s access to outstanding choral performances, exciting cultural experiences, and quality music education.

VALUES

Excellence: We uphold the highest professional and aesthetic standards across all aspects of our organization, from our administrative practices to our teaching methods, repertoire, and performances.

Inclusivity: We empower young people to explore and express themselves authentically through choral music. We believe in unity through diversity. We intentionally foster and celebrate diversity among our singers, repertoire, and audiences.

Growth: We broaden young people’s horizons with a well-rounded music education that spans multiple languages, time periods, cultures, and genres.

Joy: We inspire young people to experience joy in the shared endeavor of creating beautiful music, and extend this positivity to their families, friends, and audiences through our concerts.

Community: We are engaged with our singers for multiple years, nurturing strong bonds among our artistic faculty, our ensemble members, participating families, and volunteers. We create meaningful opportunities for cultural participation, shared enrichment, and social connection among people of all ages and backgrounds. We are deeply embedded in both the local arts ecosystem and choral music networks at the regional, state, and national level.

Sustainability: We are committed to responsible nonprofit stewardship, and to ensuring ongoing access to quality choral education for all Dallas-area children and youth.
